We are currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Estimator - Plumbing for a mechanical contractor headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

Qualifications for Lead Mechanical Estimator - Plumbing:

In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily management of the Estimating group, building and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients and demonstrating abilities in business development, leadership, organization management and profit generation. Must possess a genuine interest and experience in mechanical drafting, design, estimating and take-offs. The ability to make technically sound recommendations is essential. Evening/weekend work may be required based on project workload.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational and experience requirements include: Minimum 2 year technical college degree and 5 to 10 years experience or an equivalent amount of practical experience and education. Strong computer skills with knowledge of QuickPen Auto Bid, MS Excel and Word programs is required. Graphics experience is a plus.

Typical Duties:

• Consults with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments and construction managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
• Prepares estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Prepares estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
• Prepares cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
• Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data to effect cost reduction.
• Reviews material and labor requirements to determine cost-effectiveness.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
• Researches and evaluates systems and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Studies building documents to assess material and equipment needs, establishes the sequence of pipe installations and plans installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years Warehouse Management Experience.
• Complete understanding of computerized Warehouse Management Systems for order output, receiving and accurate inventory management utilizing scan guns and bar coding.
• Excellent knowledge of warehouse processes, as well as being highly organized

Typical Duties:

• Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
• Communicating backorders, shortages, stock receipt reporting, outgoing order reporting with other departments.
• Overseeing stock control and processing of outgoing orders as well as incoming container shipments; with a clear understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) along with scan guns and bar-coding.
• Ensuring quality of outgoing shipments including accuracy in counts and appropriate packaging.
• Fulfilling objectives and directions from the operation's headquarters in CA.
• Coordinating the use of automated and computerized systems. (WMS/Bar coding).
• Responding to and dealing with Inside Sales communication by email and telephone.
• Maintaining accurate inventory through attention to detail and cycle counting.
• Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintaining standards of health, safety and security in the workplace.
• Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
